"Bluetooth enabled" and "app connectivity" appear on almost every scooter brochure now, usually without much explanation of what they actually do while you're riding. Ride modes get the same treatment on electric scooters, listed as a feature without saying what changes when you switch between them.

Whether you're commuting through {{dealer.hyperlocation}}, travelling across {{dealer.city}}, or navigating daily urban traffic, understanding these smart scooter features can help you choose the right scooter for your riding needs.

Riders looking for connected scooters in {{dealer.city}} are increasingly prioritising features such as Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, ride modes, and TFT displays to enhance their daily commute around {{dealer.hyperlocation}} and beyond.

Bluetooth Connectivity: What It Actually Shows You

Bluetooth on a scooter means the instrument console pairs with your phone and displays information from it. The practical value is that you stop pulling your phone out at traffic lights.

On the Access Ride Connect TFT Edition, the Bluetooth-enabled console displays a fairly comprehensive set: ambient weather information, weather alerts, traffic alerts, calendar alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, estimated time of arrival, a short distance indicator, call and SMS alerts, WhatsApp notifications, missed call alerts with caller ID, phone battery level display, and over-speed warnings. It also has day and night display modes.

Two things worth knowing before you assume all of that comes standard. Certain features are limited to the Ride Connect TFT edition specifically, while the Ride Connect Edition uses a Bluetooth-enabled monochrome cluster with a narrower feature set. And connecting requires downloading the Suzuki Ride Connect app to pair your phone with the scooter.

App Connectivity and Navigation

App connectivity is the layer that makes the Bluetooth console useful. The app on your phone handles the routing, the notifications, and the data; the console displays it in a format you can read at a glance without taking a hand off the bars.

The most genuinely useful piece for most riders is turn-by-turn navigation. Big, clear directional icons on the console mean you're not squinting at a phone mounted on the handlebar or, worse, riding with earphones in.

Availability of the Suzuki Ride Connect app differs by platform and model, so check which version your chosen scooter supports before you buy.

LCD vs Colour TFT Displays

This is a real difference rather than a spec-sheet upgrade.

A colour TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display offers brighter, crisper images with faster refresh rates than a standard LCD, which means better image quality, higher contrast ratios, and more accurate colours. In practice, that's the difference between a display you can read at a glance in bright afternoon sun and one you have to squint at.

The Access offers a 4.2-inch colour TFT digital console on the Ride Connect TFT editions. The e-ACCESS uses a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT LCD with manual or automatic switching between day (white) and night (black) display modes to maximise visibility at any hour.

Ride Modes on Electric Scooters

Ride modes are where the marketing language obscures the most, so here's a concrete example.

The e-ACCESS uses the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e), which offers three drive modes plus a reverse function. What actually changes between them:

Mode	Top speed	Regenerative braking	Best for
Eco	Limited to 55 km/h	Strengthened, for greater energy recovery	Maximising cruising range
Ride A	71 km/h	High setting	Everyday riding with maximum range recovery
Ride B	71 km/h	Low setting	Smoother power delivery, less intrusive deceleration
Reverse	n/a	n/a	Backing out of tight parking spaces

The key insight most riders miss: Ride A and Ride B deliver the same maximum output and the same top speed. The difference between them is purely how strongly the regenerative braking kicks in when you close the throttle. Ride A recovers more energy but decelerates more noticeably; Ride B feels smoother but recovers less.

Eco mode is the one that actually restricts performance, capping top speed at 55 km/h and limiting power output to conserve energy, while strengthening regeneration.

Regenerative braking, if you're new to electric two-wheelers, is the system that converts some of the energy from slowing down back into battery charge instead of losing it as heat through the brakes. Stronger regen means more energy recovered and a more pronounced engine-braking sensation when you roll off the throttle.

Keyless Operation

Keyless systems let you operate the scooter while simply carrying a remote fob, with no need to insert a physical key.

On the e-ACCESS, this system lets the rider turn on the motor, open the charging inlet lid, and access the under-seat utility compartment as long as they're carrying the fob, so there's no fumbling in pockets or a backpack to find it. The Burgman Street offers keyless ignition on the Ride Connect TFT variant.

It's a convenience feature rather than a functional one, but it's the kind of thing riders notice every single day.

Which Features Are Worth Paying Extra For

Honest assessment, based on how often each one actually gets used:

Worth it for most riders: Turn-by-turn navigation on the console. Genuinely safer than phone-glancing, and used constantly if you ride in unfamiliar areas.
Colour TFT over LCD. Daytime readability is a real, everyday difference.
Ride modes on an electric scooter. Range anxiety is real, and Eco mode gives you a lever to pull when the battery is low.

Depends on your usage:

Call, SMS, and WhatsApp alerts. Useful if you're expecting time-sensitive messages; ignorable if you're not.
Keyless operation. Pure convenience, though a daily-noticed one.
Weather and traffic alerts. Handy for commuters on fixed routes, less so for short local trips.

Lower priority:

Phone battery level display on the console. Nice, but rarely decisive in a purchase.

These smart features are available across selected Suzuki scooter variants and can be explored at Suzuki dealerships in {{dealer.hyperlocation}}, {{dealer.city}}.

Key Takeaways

Bluetooth on a scooter console means it displays phone data (navigation, calls, alerts) so you're not pulling your phone out mid-ride.
Feature sets differ sharply by variant: on the Access, the full alert suite sits on the Ride Connect TFT edition, while the Ride Connect Edition uses a monochrome cluster.
Colour TFT displays offer brighter, crisper output with faster refresh than standard LCD, which matters most for daytime readability.
On the e-ACCESS, Ride A and Ride B deliver the same output and top speed; only the regenerative braking strength differs. Eco mode is the one that caps top speed at 55 km/h.
Turn-by-turn navigation on the console is the feature most riders get daily value from.
Ride modes as a category exist on the electric e-ACCESS, not on the petrol 125cc scooters.
For riders in {{dealer.city}}, the choice of features will ultimately depend on daily commuting patterns, riding preferences, and connectivity requirements around {{dealer.hyperlocation}} and surrounding areas.
